Privacy Policy
East Rand Boards respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Who we are
East Rand Boards, 25 Birmingham Street, Benoni South, Benoni, 1501. Information officer: the owner of East Rand Boards. Contact: ErbBenoni@gmail.com, 011 422 5448.
What we collect
When you send a quote request, a cut list or a message we receive the details you type: your name, phone number, email address, company name if you give one, the products, sizes and notes in your list, and any files you attach (cut lists, drawings, photos).
Your quote list and cut list are kept in your own browser (local storage) until you send them or clear them. They are not sent to us before you press Send.
Like most websites, our hosting records technical information such as your IP address and browser type to keep the site secure and working. If analytics are switched on, they collect anonymous usage statistics.
Why we use it
Only to prepare and send your quote, to cut and edge your order, to answer your questions, and to contact you about your order. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not add you to marketing lists unless you ask us to.
Who sees it
Our staff who handle quotes and orders. Your request is emailed to our quote inbox and stored on our website so it is not lost. Service providers who host the website and deliver email process it on our behalf and must keep it confidential.
How long we keep it
Quote requests and messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any order that follows, and for the period the law requires for business records. You can ask us to delete them sooner where the law allows.
Your rights
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to its use. Contact us at ErbBenoni@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforeg.org.za.
Security
Forms are protected against spam and tampering, uploaded files are stored in a private folder that cannot be opened from the internet, and access to requests is limited to our staff.
